Comfort and Conformity

Conformity (click the work “conformity” to see the video) is to be compliant with standards, rules or laws but the Bible says, “do not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Now I’m not saying go out here and break every law known to man, that’s not what I’m saying. What I am saying is stop conforming to what society says is best for you and start conforming to what God says is best for you. Stop being afraid to be made uncomfortable, to be comfortable is to escape freedom from pain and ease. When we’re comfortable we don’t tend to want to change but if you truly want to grow you have to be willing to be uncomfortable.

It was uncomfortable at one point in time for me to get on this camera and share my truth but now it’s become comfortable. I’m now seeking out people to allow me to go in front of a public audience and share my truth, share my vision and share my belief of what God has for me to give to other people. Make yourself uncomfortable by pushing yourself outside the limits of your box. The mind has no limits, we limit the mind by putting it in a box.

Comfort and Conformity can be the enemy of growth and change.

When you’re lifting weights it’s comfortable for you to lift a 15 pound dumbbell but if you truly want growth in your biceps, if you truly want growth in your triceps you might need to get uncomfortable and pick up a heavier weight. You might need to get a little bit uncomfortable and go deeper into the things of your life that’s hurt you. Do not be so comfortable that you’re afraid to push yourself into a little bit of hurt and pain, that’s why it’s called growing pains. As you continue to grow you may experience some painful things, as you continue to grow you may experience some painful memories, as you continue to grow you will experience some pain but if you become comfortable with being made uncomfortable your life will truly change.

Conforming to the decisions that others are making for you is the enemy of true growth. When you really want to grow you’ll stop conforming to the patterns of this world and for what everyone else wants you to do and conform to what God’s word says and see the growth that comes within you.

I hope this motivation and inspiration is something for your situation to free and relax your mind as if you are on a vacation! – Mr. P.I.E.N.
