I’ve often heard the phrase, “you become the company you keep” and thought to myself that’s interesting. Another phrase I’ve heard is, “show me your 5 friends and I’ll show you the next 5 years of your life”.  My question is, what about the kids?  What are you showing your own or the ones that are influenced by you? 

As parents, aunts, and uncles we have a responsibility to show them the right things to do. You are the first line of defense, in most ways they’re inspired by you. Do not focus on only telling children what to do, be a real model or great example for them to follow and show them they can trust you. Because if the two opening statements are true, as parents and guardians the outcome of your child’s life heavily depends on what they see you do. Again you are the first line of defense and offense too. Let’s show these little ones that they can count on you; because you and I as parents are a major part of their company!
